How can I join Blood Orange's mailing list for news and updates?
Please e-mail me at khrunova(at)gmail(dot)com to be added. I plan to restock the shop weekly and add new designs at least once a month.
What are these garments made of?
I try to work with fabrics and yarns that are not only beautiful, but also have less environmental impact over the garment's whole lifecycle. Currently, I use linen fabrics and fair trade organic cotton yarns, but I also plan to sell garments made of reclaimed materials and am constantly exploring other options.
The fair trade organic cotton yarns I use are made by Rowan and are dyed using natural plant based dyes.
Linen is made of flax, which is grown mainly in Europe, using little if any fertilizers and pesticides. Although it is difficult to measure exactly, from my research it seems that in many cases linen may be a more sustainable option for clothing than organic cotton. Linen fabrics are very durable and age beautifully, which means the garments I make will last longer even if you wear them everyday. Linen is best washed in cold water, dried on the line and usually does not require ironing since it looks even better when creased – thus it saves you a lot of energy. All the fabrics I use at the moment are made in Japan.
Where are these garments made?
Everything in the shop is hand knitted, crocheted or sewn by me in my small studio in Melbourne, Australia.
How do I get the right size?
All garments are custom made to your measurements. Please always include your hip, waist and bust and any other measurements you think I might need, when ordering. For an accurate measurement, wrap the measuring tape around fullest part of your bust and hips. Waist is measured at the narrowest point. I always include standard length of garments in the description. Please let me know if you need it adjusted for you.
How should I take care of my Blood Orange things?
I recommend machine washing in cold water with environmentally friendly detergent for linen clothes. Please dry garments on the line, as it saves lots of energy. Usually, ironing is not necessary, as linen looks great when it's slightly creased. Crocheted scarves are best hand washed in lukewarm or cold water and dried flat.
What currency do you use in the shop?
All my prices are listed in Australian Dollars.
When will my order ship?
In most cases I will make and ship garments within two and a half weeks after you place the order. Blood Orange is a one person operation and I appreciate your patience and understanding. I also plan to have limited items that are ready to ship in my shop.
Can I track the delivery?
Standard shipping cannot be tracked, but I am happy to post your items registered mail with tracking number, which costs a bit more. Please, email me for a quote and shipping upgrade at khrunova(at)gmail(dot)com.
Do you offer refunds or exchanges?
At the moment all sales are final. However, if you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact me within 5 days of receiving you order and we will try to work something out.
